Sensugang (@sensugang) – “Cyborg”

Coming on the back of their latest single ‘Melon Juice’ which was championed by The Rapfest, Hillydilly, LillyEra and DigiIndie, among others, with further support from the likes of The Plug Society, HypeFresh Magazine and Kaboom Magazine, exciting LA rap duo sensugang follow things up with their brand new offering and fourth single titled ‘Cyborg’, premiered via RESPECT Magazine and taken from their highly anticipated debut EP Chaos Control.

Produced by Yung Sensu and Austin Hall, ‘Cyborg’ is a markedly more hard-hitting and aggressive rap track than the previously released melodic ‘Melon Juice’ and quick-fire offering ‘Yajirobe Trap Bag’. Backed by sparse synth keyboard arrangements and bass-heavy drum patterns, the sub-heavy ‘Cyborg’ provides the perfect conduit for sensugang to deliver their most commanding offering yet.

Serving as the final single from their forthcoming debut EP Chaos Control, ‘Cyborg’ flips the conventional lyricism of internet-based rap into digital cyberspace. While most of their contemporaries would talk about doing drugs and buying designer clothes, Yung Sensu and Gangaroo Pouch comfortably take a seat behind the computer monitor, trading crypto and moving ounces across California through the power of the internet.

Instead of sharing their thoughts on the inspiration behind ‘Cyborg’ and what the record is all about as you would expect, Sensu Gang have drafted a family member to do the honours for them in true LA slacker rapper fashion, and they are quoted as saying, “I’m told ‘Cyborg’ is a song about Mark Cuban’s life or… something? I don’t know, I didn’t make the song”.

They add that, “I’m Yung Sensu’s little sister, and he said he was too lazy to write a quote for his song, so he made me do it or else he’d tell mom about the time I slept over at Patrick’s place last week which NOTHING EVEN HAPPENED but WHATEVERRRR. Anyway the song doesn’t make any sense to me, but Gangaroo raps about money and drugs and lipstick and that’s basically it”.
